General Plan

I’m comparing coke and Pepsi to see which dissolves teeth more. I measured the mass to begin with and at the end. I had six teeth and put three in coke and the other three in Pepsi.

What are teeth made of?
Teeth are made up of four main parts. On the outside is a protective layer of enamel - the hardest substance in the body. Below that is a bone-like substance called dentin, which makes up the largest part of the tooth. Underneath the dentin, the tooth actually has a soft center. This is called the pulp, and it holds all of the tooth's blood vessels and nerve endings. Finally, the cementum covers the roots.
What is coke made of?
originally was made with the drug coke and that's how it got its name, it is made up of
suger or,caramel color,caffeine, phosphoric acid, coca extract, kola nut extract, lime extract, vanilla, and glycerin. coke was one of the only sodas ever to originaly be made as medicine.
What is Pepsi made of?
made of
high fructose corn syrup, caramel color, sugar, Phosphoric acid, caffeine, citric acid and natural flavors. A can of Pepsi (12 fl ounces) has 41 grams of carbohydrates (all from sugar), 30 mg of sodium, 0 grams of fat, 0 grams of protein, 38 mg of caffeine and 150 calories. The caffeine-free Pepsi-Cola contains the same ingredients but without the caffeine.

Discussion

for this experiment i used a couple of teeth that my mom kept from my child hood and the soda i placed them in was just soda you would find at your local super market or a superstore such as Wal*mart. I put the soda in 6 glasses you could get at a store where they sell water glasses and kept the teeth soaking for 3 and a half weeks, this is something you could try at home.

Abstract

i did this experiment because coke and Pepsi are the biggest soda company's there is. you ether like Pepsi or coke you cant like both so this experiment will probably make up your mind. I liked Pepsi better till I did this experiment and i learned that Pepsi is way worse than coke for your teeth.
